Meet the President
Lawrence has served as the President of the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce since 2007. Lawrence plays an integral part in ensuring the Chamber runs effectively and the business community is represented through the Chamber on local matters. He also ensures the Chamber maintains ties with local government and the City of Sydney. Lawrence is the Managing Director of the Alternative Media Group, publishers of The City News, The City Hub, The Bondi View and The Inner West Independent. He founded The City Hub in 1995, acquired The City News (formerly The Pyrmont Ultimo News) in 2002, The Bondi View in 2005 and The Inner West Independent in 2009. He served as a publishing consultant to the Honolulu Weekly and to Canada’s largest weekly newspaper, Now Magazine, in Toronto. He was the publisher of the Fairfield and Westchester County Weekly in suburban New York and the Advertising Director of the San Francisco Bay Guardian, one of the largest independent weekly newspapers in the US.
Meet the Vice President
Pyrmont Ultimo has become a vibrant commercial area of Sydney with a strong focus on media, creative, tourism and education industries. It is an exciting place to work and live and I welcome the opportunity to be an active component of its commercial kaleidoscope of activities. The Chamber is the voice for local businesses and I would like to help it have a louder voice on important issues such as local infrastructure, tourism, industry clusters, planning and business regulations.

Meet the Treasurer
